Endorsement for Jessica Comai-Brumsted

By Shelburne News on

As longtime residents of Shelburne, we would like to publicly endorse the candidacy of Jessica Comai-Brumsted for the Chittenden 5-2 House seat in the Vermont Legislature.

We have known Jessica for many years and in a variety of roles. As a mother, she has been a steady, positive presence in school activities and parental support functions for her daughter and three sons. We have enjoyed many a soccer game with Jessica, who always wore a smile and delighted in every child’s achievement. She has raised four wonderful children, teaching them to be polite, generous, respectful of others and civically engaged. Jessica has been a tireless community volunteer, working for many organizations promoting children’s welfare including the Lund Center, the Vermont Children’s Fund, and the effort to build the new Mother-Baby Unit at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

Jessica is incredibly knowledgeable about local and national issues. She has worked for Senator Jim Jefford’s administration in the past. She has also served as the director of the Vermont Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program, where she was a strong advocate for expanding the healthcare workforce in Vermont through health careers educational programs, support for medical students and their preceptors, and advancing the need for Educational Loan Repayment to keep primary care providers in rural Vermont. Her depth of interest and knowledge is vast and we learn something from Jessica every time we speak with her.

Jessica Comai-Brumsted is smart, seasoned, well informed and a great listener. This is the type of person we need to represent us in the Legislature and we are delighted to support her.
